Been a while since I did one of these. For some reason, I've been listening to J.Cole's track The Autograph like almost everyday now you would think I just heard it. Well that's half true cos I just realized there are a number of quotables on there. Check it out below.

"They say anything's possible, you gotta dream like you never seen obstacles"..."Don't you see me making my dreams come true with no genie"

Speaking of music, now you all know I can't lead you astray. This right here is the BEST album I've heard all year...so far. And I bet it would be very hard to top. Its Emeli Sande's - Our Version of Events. She's half Zambian & Scottish I think. Here's one of my many favorites from her.

Legit question for all you 9-5ers. How do you possibly get any other thing in life done?? I practically spend 14 hrs devoted to work related activities (from waking to getting back home). Then assuming I sleep for 6 hours to maintain my sanity, which leaves 4 hours for....?? I can't possibly build my empire on that, lol.. no seriously though! *sigh sigh*

Anyways, so I'm finally getting a well deserved break. I'm starting this new travel every third of the year thing. Well, this April would be the first so we'll just see how it goes, supposing I don't go bankrupt.. London/Manchester UK... bring out the red carpet. Gosh, I can't wait to have jand chinese :D

So this weekend, I kinda got schooled on the what's hot & not in techno / dance music. I mean as much as I love my neo-soul and R&B sometimes all I want to listen to is house! No worries, I'm still far from getting into hard rock so you can all breathe :p

Anyways, thought I'll leave u with the one track that stuck with me. Its from last year, but music never gets old.. Hope you're all having a great week!

J'aime toutes les choses française

Sitting here writing SQL statements on my day off and for some reason my fingers wonder off to the Cartier website. Not necessarily to buy anything, more of inspiration to keep going I guess. Anyways, this post is as random as it gets, but I really just realized as the title says "I love [almost] all things French".

1. Air France remains my airline of choice after so many years now.
2. I heart Hermes perfumes. I'm in between 24 Faubourg and the Merveilles Elixir . And I definitely will be buying the [future] boyfriend/ husband a bottle of Terre D'Hermes.

3. One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta - Bistro Niko - happens to be.. well, French.

4. "Music Sounds Better With You" performed by Daft Punk and Stardust even at 5 years old is one of my favorite electronic/house tracks. And you guessed it the duo Daft Punk is French.

5. I'm not a huge fan of champagne, but given the choice I always go with Veuve Cliccquot.

so anyways... in case you ever wonder what to get me. A cartier watch or tickets to see the French open would be nice :)

Yay! I'm doing better; second post this month. I'll jump right in.. I saw "Safe House" this past Friday and I must say its the second best movie I've seen all year. First being "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". And I say this only because halfway I predicted the "twist" in SafeHouse so that kinda ruined it a bit. Regardless if you've got $12 to spare, go watch it.
On to music.. I've got a couple tracks I can't stop playing right now. It's like I'm addicted to a new song every week. Anyways, first up is 'Ass Back Home' by Gym Class Heroes ft. Neon Hitch. I heard this a whileeee back but never got the name. Heard it again yesterday and its been on repeat; well just cos of Neon Hitch on the chorus. Loooove her voice.

Second is 'Beremole' by Adey ft. Tiwa Savage. There's really nothing to this song asides the beat plus I think Tiwa shoulda had a longer verse but anyways.. got this on as well.

Lastly, if you own a BB and haven't heard of Chigurl, you def are a weist, lol! Peep her flytime interview down below.

Hope everyone had a good vals day.

So someone just reminded me its February and I still have "happy new year" as my last post. How many languages can you say I've neglected my blog. I totally missed the Occupy Nigeria era, although I did have an opinion I wanted to blog about... Either way, its a new month yet again.

Anyone got valentines day plans? Its a weekday so luckily I don't have to consciously ignore what holiday it is cos ill be busy into work. Just incase you want to send me sumn tho, I can always forward my addy.

I'll make this short cos my old self can't stay up past 12 these days, but I will drop what's one.... okay maybe 2 or 3 of my current favorite tracks. TGiF!

Although we're 15 days into the year already, I hear better late than never is better. Here's hoping everyone had an awesome break. As I must have mentioned, I spent 2 weeks back home in Lagos, Nigeria. And although my regular 'crew' decided to skip out this year and leave me solo, I had quite a blast regardless. There's nothing like being home with family and good friends.

I won't go into detail about the trip, but I must say Nigeria brings out the alcoholic in me... no really, it was actually kinda bad. Oh and I got to see & meet a whole bunch of celebrities. I sang Dami Duro with Davido at the Palms... sang Kontrol with W4 at some house party. Oh and at one point had to start dodging rapper Poe. I kept seeing him around everywhere I went, so I didn't want to be overly excited fan that was stalking him, lol! It was all good fun though. Now I do believe if I lived in Naij (ok I won't go there today)

Enough talking, lets see if I can dig up a few pics from the trip. Most of them have other people in it so I won't post for their sake.

Family lunch at Villa Medici - I had this ravioli thing filled with shrimp

Pic's kinda blurry, but my friends got engaged on New Years Day!!

Having drinks with friends at Radisson Blu

Villa Medici again - this seafood salad is/was the BIZNESS!!

Ms Jaie at the Koko Concert (saw her at Radisson as well, was too shy to say hi)

Howdy folks,

I'm actually blogging.. shocker right? Well to fill you guys in the loop, life has been busy. On the bright side, work is over (once I take this exam thingy in the AM) and its straight vacay mode for the next 2 weeks. I'm mostly looking forward to the FOOD and for the first time, not much else. Most of my good buddies won't be in town so time to make new friends *sigh*

As usual, I always make resolutions and stick to about 4/5 out of 20. Which isn't too bad I should say. I haven't made any for the coming year yet so there isn't much to share, but will do if I remember.

Anyways, enough about me... Considering there's been a huge lag in time since my last post, if you haven't heard these tracks already which all caused a major buzz on twitter in one way or the other, listen and drop a comment oh and watch the video to Wizkid - Pakurumo while you're at it.

Tiwa Savage Feat. Don Jazzy - Without My Heart

Banky W - Setting P
Banky W - Lowkey

Wande Coal - Go Low
Wande Coal - Private Trips

But really though, on a more serious note anyone seen next year's budget for Nigeria. I'm lifting this off LindaIkeji's blog but gaddem. I wonder if these people remember you can't buy your way into heaven though. Total sum is 4.7 trillion naira...

Security - N921.91 billion
Power - N161.42 billion
Works - N180.8 billion
Education - N400.15 billion.
Health - N282.77 billion
Agriculture & Rural Dev - N78.98 billion
Niger Delta - N59.72 billion
Water Resources - N39 billion;
Petroleum Resources – N59.66 billion
FCDA - N45.57 billion

Switching gears, a couple movies just came out / are out that I want to see - New Year's Eve, Mission Impossible 4, Sherlock Holmes 2. I really hope all these movies are out in Nigeria. I mean what's better than watching a movie with sugar popcorn... ok maybe a movie with sugar popcorn a sprite zero while wearing a snuggie/onesie :p The trailer to Men In Black 3 below.

I got this image off another blog I frequent Thorough Glass - check it out. But anyways it got me thinking and ill like to share 3 of the most important lessons I learnt this year with you lot. It should be common sense but..

1) Friends + money do not go together and if you decide to indulge in such, only give/borrow what you won't mind losing if its never returned.
2) When you think there's a slight chance there might be something with a certain other, ask if they've got a girl/boy/man/woman/baby friend. Sometimes assumptions are incorrect.
3) On a better note, life goes on.. Cliche I know, but ever think back at a time when you thought all hell was coming down on you but somehow you survived. Its my new mantra, whatever it is one way or another I'll get through it.

Okay that's it. If you know me I'm nowhere near packed for my trip tomorrow. I will try to blog from the motherland, but incase I don't. Many blessings and a great holiday season to you lot.

And if you're wondering where the blog title came from.. Dawn Richard - December Sky
